About Me

Jonathan joined the Computer Science and Creative Technologies department at UWE Bristol as a Lecturer in Cyber Security in January 2020 and is now a Senior Lecturer in Cyber Security. Prior to joining UWE he worked in the telecommunications industry for over 23 years as a software developer, product specialist and management leader in real-time, high-availability, fault-tolerant embedded systems deployed in Critical National Infrastructure telecoms networks.

Jonathan holds an M.Sc. in Cyber Security (Distinction) and a B.Sc. in Computing for Real-Time Systems, both obtained at the University of the West of England.

His primary research interests are in Federated Learning, with a keen interest in container security and the detection of threats to IoT devices in a home network environment using machine learning
