Marking Guidelines

Part 1 A basic answer (40-50) will be a description of the site and its implementation.  In a good answer (50 - 60) this description will be well-structured and clear.  A very good answer (60 -70) will go beyond this to description to identify several challenges which the site faces (such as security and reliability) and analytically discusses the measures taken.  An excellent answer (70 and above) will demonstrate a deep understanding of the problems which the site presents and explains how these have been met.  A fail answer (below 40) will lack engagement with the task and demonstrate gross misunderstanding of the nature of the site and its technology.

Part 2 A basic answer (40-50) will have use the basic headings in Diffily to organise purely descriptive information which shows a lack of distinction between management and technical descriptions.  A good answer (50-60) will provide a clear and well-structured audit of the site. A very good answer (60-70) will in addition include relevant and useful recommendations for changes in management and governance practice.  An excellent answer (70 and above) will demonstrate insight into the conflicting forces which the web site manager must balance..  A fail answer (below 40) will show lack of engagement with the task, failure to interview the site manager and demonstrate a lack of understating of the nature of a management-level audit.
