HYBRIDMAT 3 and 4
Seminar Date: 13 July 2006
Venue: The Royal Aeronautical Society, 4 Hamilton Place, London
This mission seminar will focus on the findings of two recent DTI Global Watch Missions, both of which were led by the National Composites Network. The first mission, HYBRIDMAT 3, focused on the manufacture of advanced structural composites in aerospace and visited leading aerospace organisations including Spirit Aerospace Systems, Raytheon, Goodrich, and Boeing, in Kansas, California and Washington State.

Vanguard have completed the next version of DecisionPro (code name Iris). This software greatly enhances the component technology and web integration. Vanguard have a public server farm set up to act as a "Wiki" style repository for components and applications. So, we can make our models available to all Web users, the UWE SEEDS team will Publish these on the Vanguard server and put a link to it on our site. Vanguards' goal is to create a global library where researchers from many universities can share components.

Vanguard Global Knowledge Portal - Spar Example - Wing Spar Example - Spar - Translated from Protege Ontology - outputs results to other languages - e.g. XML, SVG, Java.
Vanguard DecisionPro performs costing and decision support calculations based on equations entered in Protege. The resultant calculated tree is then output into a variety of visualation tools that read and display semantic XML based languages, or translated into other languages such as Java for Cost Estimator.
