XML Examples Using Schemas and DTDs

XML Events Lists

These are based on the Work of Chris Wallace and his Faculty Information Team at UWE (Andy Cowley, Nicholas Read, Amit Patel, Peter Hale). This project uses XML and XQuery with the eXist XML database to create the Computing, Engineering and Mathematical Sciences (CEMS) Faculty Information System.

These XML examples demonstrate the use of a schema and a DTD for validating the XML. In them I have included a reference to the Schema, and a reference to the DTD within the XML document to show both ways of validating the XML.

I would prefer not to specify an order for any child items which is why I've used the complex type all rather than sequence in the schema. I haven't found a way yet of specifying that a list of children is unordered in the DTD.
