| Description: | Small grants paying for activities which will encourage girls' to expand their interest in engineering. Activities such as attending events or buying activities for girl groups. Applications can be made at any time. Only available in Scotland, to non-profit bodies, charities and schools. |

| Description: | Students are designing and building a half-size Lunar Module to carry them on virtual trip to the moon. Students have to go through an application process to become an Astronaut or Mission Controller, they will then be interviewed. Successful candidates will follow a fitness regime and personal development programme including Team leadership through the 'Insights' programme piloted at the college.Over night on Saturday 15th March we will have a simulated flight to the moon with students 'piloting' the pod for a 24 hour period to a landing on the moon. Students will need to stay overnight at the college and work in relays. The army, Teeside university. and other partners are supporting the event. |

| Description: | We are running science-based activities at Staffordshire University on 5 & 12 March 2008 for Year 9 pupils. Four schools are able to participate in four different sessions. Invitations have been sent to all secondary schools in Stoke and Staffordshire with the emphasis on sending widening participation students. |
